Technologies that OCI enables through MAA include Oracle Exadata Database Service and Oracle Real Application Clusters. Though Oracle Database Standard Edition and Oracle Database Enterprise Edition can run on Azure, OCI is the only public cloud that provides Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA). Multicloud deployment with applications on Azure and databases on OCIĪzure customers can move from self-managed Oracle Database products to fully managed services that are rightsized for their workloads, meet availability requirements, and include built-in backups. Oracle Database Service for Azure delivers low-latency database access and high database-to-application throughput for on-premises workloads migrated to multicloud environments built on Azure and OCI. When applications are sensitive to database access latency or require high throughput from the databases, migrating the application tier to Microsoft Azure while leaving Oracle databases on-premises isn’t a viable option.
